[Zuid-Holland] Collection of ca. 150 views
17th-19th cent. but mainly 18th century, various techniques and sizes, mainly engraved and small-sized.
Including many duplicates, but nearly all of them variants, printed on large and normal paper, handcol. and uncol., from various editions with or without text, loose or in quires. Mainly comprises views by Rademaker from Nederlandiche Outheeden en Gezigten and Nederlandsche en Kleefsche Oudheden and by H. Spilman after J. de Beyer from the Tegenwoordige Staat, but also fine maps of Asperen and Vianen, from Boxhorn and variants of those maps. The views comprise a.o. Alblasserdam, Alphen, Ameyde, Asperen, Bodegraven, Jaarsveld, Spangen (castle), Streefkerk, Tienhoven and Vianen. A series of 14 oval prints by Anna Brouwer from Van Ollefen & Bakker (ca. 1800) deserves special mentioning, with views on Aarlanderveen, Ammerstol, St. Anthoniespolder (2x, of which 1 with attached letterpress description of 8p.), Beierland, Berkoude (2x, col. and uncol.), Biert, Den Bommel, Ter Heiden, Rodenrijs, De Stad, Strijen and Valkenburg. Sold as a collection of prints, not subject to return (total ca 150).
