Kusjens
[After the Latin of Janus Secundus in a translation by A.W. Engelen]. Groningen, printed by C.M. van Bolhuis Hoitsema for W. van Boekeren, 1830, XIV,71,(1) p., lithogr. title by. E. Velyn, orig. printed boards, a.e.g., sm. square 8vo (11.2 x 8.5 cm).
Sl. foxed; paper over spine splitting. A very good copy. "Het kleine Werkjen, waarvan ik in navolging thands aan mijne landgenooten aanbiede, is steeds als een meesterstuk van Erotische poezy beschouwd geworden." ("Voorrede"). Very rare cheap edition of a work by Janus Secundus (1511-1536), of which the original Latin edition was published in 1539, under the title "Basia". It contains a series of 19 poetical "kisses", followed by "korte aanteekeningen" on these 19 poems.
