*Karl Breu (1884-1953) adopted his stage name Tom Jack, following the artistry of Houdini, an escape artist and magician. However, he was mostly remembered for his unusual looks: Karl was born with severe albinism, and intertwined his act and his physical features of a snow white skin, white hair and pink eyes into a mythological persona: the "Ice King".
