Herman Berserik (1921-2002). "Vrouw in bad"

Drawing in black chalk, 13.5 x 18.5 cm, signed and dated "1971", under passepartout.

Titled on a printed and typescript label of the Haags Gemeentemuseum (attached to the passepartout), which held an exhibition of his work in 1973. Also with annotation in pencil on passepartout: "Gekocht via tentoonstelling te Venlo f. 200,-. Afgebeeld in de katalogus p. 92 no. 177." The drawing is accompanied by a letter in pen by Berserik: "Geachte Heer Ameron. Geheel buiten mijn schuld hier eindelijk uw tekening. Ik heb hem voor het postvervoer wat minder kwetsbaar gemaakt door het passepartout wat te verkleinen. (Het was tóch beschadigd!) Het "plakkertje v/h Gem. Museum viel er daardoor af. Ik heb het er nu maar los bijgedaan. Hoogachtend Berserik". Also preserved is the front part of the original envelope which Berserik used for postage. (total 3)
