Carolee Schneemann ephemera

(1) Collection of Xeroxed biographical information and press clippings sent by the artist to Tjeerd Deelstra early 1970s. Includes a striking original program booklet for the XXIIIe Festival d'Avignon 1969, 16 pp. featuring her self-shot 16mm erotic film 'Fuses' and a b/w postcard announcement for a film in progress by Scheemann and McCall, New York June 1971.

(2) Benzene Magazine #7 Winter 1983, edited by Allan Bealy, De Press New York. Newspaper format art journal, 50 pp. with an extensive feature on Schneemann titled 'Dirty Pictures'. Also contains articles on Anne Turyn, John Giorno et al. and a flexidisc by Anthony and the Ascetics. Fine copy. *Carolee Schneemann (1939 – 2019) was an American multidisciplinary artist whose work encompassed film, painting, performance and text exploring the body, narrative, sexuality and gender.
