Dusseldorf, Edition Hundertmark, 1979. Small wooden box, 3 x 7.5 x 5 cm, with a sliding lid featuring the title stamped in blue. Houses 3 wooden objects resembling dice/chairs. Edition of 75, signed Takako, dated '79 and numbered 56/75 on the interior of the lid. Very good copy. Rare item, part of the Gilbert and Lila Silverman Fluxus Collection at Moma New York.
Takako Saito (1929-) is a Japanese artist who has lived in Düsseldorf since the late 1970s. Her work is rooted in everyday life and the joy of playing. She contributed a number of performances and artworks to the Fluxus movement such as her conceptually radical chess set designs.
