Marcel Duchamp chess case catalogue

Antwerp, Galerie Ronny Van de Velde, 1991. Luxury exhibition catalogue with loose objects in a wooden box, 37 x 37 x 6 cm, the top and bottom bearing reproductions of Duchamp's 'mental' Chess Board. From a limited edition of 850, this is number 160.

The box contains the following items: a list of contents; an exhibition list; a portfolio with faithful reproductions of works by Duchamp, also including a copy of H. Vuibert 'Les Anaglyphes geometriques' and a reproduction of a page from The Blind Man No.2; a book with articles on Duchamp by André Breton and Arturo Schwarz (inserted, on a separate sheet, a reproduction of Le Grand Verre); an audiocassette of Duchamp speaking with a reproduction of 'The Breast' on the cassette case; a postcard with photo of ‘Marcel Duchamp at the Age of Eighty-Five’. The box is housed in a black paper slipcase which shows some toning and mild scratching. The condition of the inserts is fine, with the exception of the audiocassette and the exhibition list which are stuck together due to excessive glue leaking from 'The Breast' (can probably be separated).
