All 4 prints washed in brown watercolour and on a scale of 1/4'' = 1'- 0''. The S.S. Gelria was built in 1913 for the Koninklijke Hollandsche Lloyd. From 1921 onwards it was called the "Landverhuizershotel", perhaps the ship was altered following these designs on occasion of its new function. It was confiscated by the Germans in 1943 and given to the British after the war, and was scrapped in 1946. It is known as one of the ships that J.J. Slauerhoff worked on as a doctor. The doctor's room and adjoining apothecary are indicated on blueprint (4), so located at deck C. And a smaller blueprint of the sous-terrain of the ship "schetsplan landverhuizershotel" (dam., two fine large sized gouache and watercolour designs for unidentified (perhaps never built) cruise-ships, both 45 x 106.5 cm and 7 related small size posters. (total 14)
