[Daguerreotypes] Papier maché box
With identical decoration in relief on both sides, 9.5 x 15.5 x 2.5 cm, ca. 1860, containing 4 loosely inserted daguerreotype/ ambrotype portraits, all behind orig. gilt decorated brass-lamella passepartouts and measuring 8.5 x 7 cm.
Box has a few cracks and a few tiny missing pieces. One photograph w. loss of image, two others a bit stained. Portraits of a granny (a bit vague), a man (very clear and fine), and mother and child (2x), held well in place in the box by board strips covered with velvet. (total 4 in 1 box)
