According to the RKD, the publisher's Arpels & Gabriels were active between 1815 and 1840. Boerma, Borms et al., Kinderprenten, volksprenten, centsprenten, schoolprenten. Populaire grafiek in de Nederlanden 1650-1950, mentions the publishers G.J. Arpelis
[erroneously, the final letters "ls" are identically printed in the names Arpels and Gabriels] and J.A. Gabriels on p. 26, indicating that this type of print was not meant as a catchpenny print, but as wall-decoration. OCLC mentions just a single print by Arpelis [erroneously] & Gabriels & Co. (and no prints under the name Arpels & Gabriels & Co), with Genoveva as subject (KB). They date the print 178?, but indicate lithography as the technique used.
