The Living Room, Amsterdam

(1) Launched in a small third-floor apartment in 1981 by Bart van de Ven and Peer Veneman, the gallery focused on painting and sculpture, presenting mainly Dutch artists working in an anti-academic, ‘wild’ style of the early 80s. Included in this lot are 3 catalogues (1982/83) featuring Rob Scholte, Henk Visch and Fortuyn O'Brien et al.

(2) 8 invitation cards presenting Korsmit, Van Vreden, Van den Broeck and others. (3) 2 exhibition flyers for Mantje and Vlught, also part of the Living Room scene. (4) Added are 5 cards from the Amsterdam based Jurka gallery announcing shows by Larry Clark (Tulsa), Mapplethorpe, Hujar, Elvira Bach and Maarten Ploeg held in 1982/83. (total 18)
