Lacks 1 plate; occas. foxed/ sl. browned; upper endpapers waterst. and w. old (crossed-out) owner's entries. A few quires loosening and sl. protruding from bookblock at fore-edge; bookblock loose from head- and tailband; vellum soiled. Very rare 2nd edition, apparently no copies in NCC, listing a title-edition of this 2nd edition published by H.W. van Welbergen in Deventer, 1725 (re-using the frontisp. of our 1718 edition, cf. Sale Cat. Coll. Buisman 836). The first Dutch edition appeared in 1706. Alonso F. de Avellaneda is a pseudonym of F.L. Aliagra, who in 1614 published this pseudo-cervantes, a continuation of the first part of the Don Quichot by Cervantes, one year before the latter published his second part.
