Getrocken uyt verscheyden oude Roomsch-Catholijcke legende-boecken, ende andere schrijvers. Vermakelijck, ende stichtelijck om te lesen voor alle catholieke hertekens. Met noodige annotatien, en verklaringen hier en daer verlicht. Dordr., S. Onder de Linde, 1671, (48),656,(24) p., w. engr. front. showing a monk seeing in the mirror the reflection of an owl, and 5 full-p. engr. plates w. caricatures of religious scenes, contemp. vellum, sm. 8vo.

Partly waterst. Upper hinge broken (endpapers almost loose) and bookblock loose from tailband. Rare first edition of a popular satire on the Roman Catholic Church, divided into 5 parts, each part illustrated with a biting caricature. This Dordrecht edition is even very rare, published in the same year as a more common Amsterdam edition with the frontisp in mirror image. Only a few editions are found recorded. Waller 1133 (Amst., 1671, frontispiece in mirror image); Scheepers I, 528 (bound with Hazart's reaction).
