Lyon, Etienne Gueynard, 7 November 1514, (8),468 lvs., title printed in red & black with woodcut initials and illustration within rich woodcut border, folio i and verso of folio xxiiii also within decorative woodcut border and with woodcut illustration, half-p. woodcut illustrations on folios cccxciiii and ccccxvii, a few other pages within simple woodcut borders, some decorative woodcut initials, modern overlapping vellum in antique style, 4to.
Fol. ii lacks sm. portion of upper outer corner, sl. affecting the text; title-p. cut on the borderline at upper margin; vaguely waterst. in upper blank margin throughout. A few sm. other defects. A very good copy. With old/ contemp. owner's motto "Sola virtus beatos Efficit" and the blank coat-of-arms in lower margin filled-out in pen with 3 stars and 3 clovers, most probably of a member of the French family De Serres de Mesplès. We traced other copies with the coat-of-arms filled-out by former owners.
