Willem De Ridder, European Mail Order House
As an agent for Fluxus Europe, de Ridder set up the European Mail-Order House in 1964 with Dorothee Meijer. It sold Fluxus multiples, mainly derived from George Maciunas, and some new productions. This lot includes several sales catalogues and promotional material. (1) Second pricelist, 28 x 18 cm, 7 pp. (2) Unnumbered (First?) pricelist, 28 x 22 cm, 4 pp.
(3) How to be satisfluxdecolant? Catalogue edited by Dorothee Meyer, 5 pp. with original collages and stamps. Includes a mounted work by De Ridder (OPEN/CLOSE). In original envelope mailed to Mr. de Wilde/Stedelijk Museum. (4) European Mail-Order House logo sheets and promotional card depicting the Amsterdam based venue as centre of the world. (5) Original b/w photo featuring a model showing a 'top and bottomless bathingsuit'. Text on verso announces its launch at a Fluxus fashion show also featuring neckties/socks by Robert Watts and hats by Joe Jones. (total 7)
