[Judaica and Hebraica] Vellum manuscript Esther scroll ca. 1740

Vellum scroll w. beautiful, legible Hebraic manuscript text on 3 attached lvs., total length approx. 215 cm, ca. 1740, rolled on a beautifully turned wooden stick, in the orig. board tube covered with red velvet and w. carved wooden grip and ornamental silver cap (w. rococo-ornament), total length 49 cm.

Velvet worn, otherwise in excellent condition. W. certificate description of the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden in Leyden, dated 5 January 1956, signed in print by D.G van Wijngaarden, director of the museum at the time. See the silver Torah-pointer elsewhere in this auction.
