Arman, Untitled
colour print on wove paper, 30 x 40 cm. Signed Arman in pencil in lower right corner, dedicated 'for Rob'. Undated. Fine copy.
French artist Arman (1928-2005) was one of the founders of the Paris group of Nouveaux Realistes. The sinuous shapes of string and brass instruments such as violins, cellos, trombones are a recurring theme in his work both in paintings, 'accumulations d'objets' (artefacts in sealed transparent containers) and 'coupes' (sliced sculptures).
