Waclaw Ropiecki
(1) Signed colour silkscreen, ‘To Life through Art’, 42.5 x 29 cm. (2) Three 'autoportret' works, made in 1980. B/w stencilled photographs on off white paper, 30 x 20.5 cm. Two works featuring unique hand painted additions. Included are 'Selfportrait with the rain', 'Selfportrait with never finished work about my father' and 'Selfportrait on the edge of a precipice'.
(3) Postcard with printed rubberstamps and handpainted element. Stamped with the artists' name and numbered 6/35. (total 5)
Waclaw Ropiecki (1951) was an important figure in the Polish avant garde in the 1970s, he was a founding member of the Format student group in Wroclaw (1972-1976) and cooperated with PERMAFO Gallery (1978-1980) and Foto-Medium-Art in the early 1980s.
