*Les Liasons Dangereuses was an epistolary novel written by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos, 1782. Vadim situated the story in the 1960s causing a huge scandal (as it did in the 18th century) because of its sexually explicit and cruel nature. The movie was initially banned (later it became an 'R' rated movie), but its eventual succes was immense. (total 32)
