[Batavian revolution] "Stadhouderes van 't Graauw (...) Kaet Mossel (...)"
Etching w. a few handcol. details, 12 x 10 cm, w. 8-line letterpress verse below, sheet size 30 x 21 cm, ca. 1785. Foxed and w. some folds/ creases. Rare and nice print depicting Kaat Mossel, whose real name was Catharina (Caetje) Mulder (1723-98), known as the "Helleveeg van Rotterdam". She was a fierce Orangist and opponent of the patriots. (2) "'T Oranjegraeuw schiet hier den prinsevlieger op, beplakt met juk en hoed (...)". Etching, 15.7 x 19 cm, w. "Verklaring der bovenstaende prent" in 2 columns below, sheet size 30 x 22.5 cm, (1784). Waterst., fold on lower plate-edge. Muller, Hist. prints 4579. -and 1 other similar ("Den door list en geweld aangevallen leeuw"), dated 1780.
