[World history] Two very rare Dutch posters: (1) "De Geschiedenis der Wereld

aan het volk verhaald door Adolf Streckfuss. Naar het Hoogduitsch bewerkt door B. Terhaar Bz. Wekelijks een vel van 16 bladzijden roijal 8o voor 5 cents, of in afleveringen van 80 bladzijden voor 25 cents. Compleet in ongeveer 40 afleveringen, binnen vier jaren. Leiden, P.W.M. Trap for Van den Heuvell & Van Santen in Leiden, n.d. (ca. 1866). Chromolithogr. poster. 74 x 54 cm.

Waterst. in right margin, vaguely visible recto, tax stamp in lower right corner, a few other imperfections. The series was publ. by Van den Heuvell en Van Santen in 10 vols., from 1866 to 1877. This poster is executed in a splendidly col. printing-technique, and tax stamps were abolished shortly after this poster was produced. (2) "Geïllustreerde wereld-historie voor het huisgezin. Per aflevering 37 1/2 cent. Amst., printed by Amand for Gebrs. Kraay, n.d. (ca. 1870). Col. lithogr. poster, 60 x 46 cm. Folded, left margin stained, pinholes in upper corners and a few other imperfections. No copies of the advertised book in the NCC. (total 2)
