with portrait of William III. 1852. Bronze. Rare medal celebrating the creation of approx. 17.5 acres of new land by building dikes which hold back the sea. Approx. 65 mm. Very good condition. Added: Medal "Drying out the Haarlemmermeer" by S.C. Elion. 1853. Silver. Neerlandia standing between Neptune on the left and the Leeghwater pumping station on the right, reverse w. 10 lines of text. Approx. 75 mm. Good condition.
