Lothar Baumgarten, Maikunama. Signed photo and artists' book

(1) Maikunama, original b/w photo, 33 x 22 cm, signed on rear 'Lothar Baumgarten, For Rudi (Fuchs) 2. IV. 84'. Features the artist with his head in a feathered box, overlaid with printed Latin names of exotic species such as 'Moskito Anagonda', 'Tapir' and 'Tukan' (printed in photo). The initial photo, without text, dates from 1971. Very good copy. Rare.

Photographs made by the artist when he was living with the Yanomami Indians in Venezuela in 1979, with text 'Los Advertidos (1970)' by Alejo Carpentier, translated in English.
