Van Neck's was the 2nd Dutch expedition to the area, w. the goal being to bring back spices from the area. This work incl. an engr. that shows the shore of Mauritius (where van Neck stopped for supplies), as well as the 1st publ. depiction of a dodo bird (engr. 3). Rare.
