[Medicine] J. Mössinger Instrumentmaker Groningen. Box with tools for medical electrotherapy
Mahogany box w. maker's name inlaid in the lid, early 20th cent., total size 17 x 9 x 3.5 cm, containing a fixed coiled battery w. switch, and loosely inserted three various copper instrument-tips with two wooden grips that can be screwed into the tips, together with one red and one green connection-wire with plugs on both ends, and a small bakelite container between upstanding copper strips.
The bottom of the box is loosening, some other minor defects. We were unable to verify whether the set is complete.
*At the beginning of the 19th century, the German instrument-maker Mössinger established his firm in Groningen. The firm went bankrupt in 1952, after which the collection of medical instruments was donated to the Universiteitsmuseum Groningen.
