Artists' books from Warsaw, 1980s

(1) Jozef Robakowski, PST! or signs of new art. Warsaw, Akademia Ruchu, 1989. Softcover, 29.5 x 21 cm, 180 pp. Profusely illustrated publication documenting the underground art activities in Poland between 1981 and 1984. Text in Polish and English. Exciting overview of artists' spaces and galleries, film and video venues. Signed and dedicated to Paul Panhuysen (Apollohuis Eindhoven).

(2) Handmade booklet 'Kalipso', 21 x 14.5 cm. Shows an overview of activities from the gallery run by Waldek Petryk in his apartment in Warsaw. Ills. with original drawings and collages. Signed by Petryk, dedicated to Helene and Paul Panhuysen, 1986. Unique document, in very good condition. (3) Four handmade artists' booklets by Jerzy Truszkowski. Staple-bound, each 8.5 x 11 cm, with handwritten titles on die-cut brown paper covers. Contains handwritten and xeroxed texts and drawings interspersed with red and white vellum sheets. The titles include: The Levellistic Pansexualism; The Nihilism of Intellect; The Philosophy of Medicine, the Medicine of Philosophy; Sweet Greatness is Burning in this Way. All booklets signed and dated 1982-1983. Amazing set from the Warsaw based artist, filmmaker, writer and curator. (total 6)
