Broodthaers/ Baumgarten and Oppitz, set of two related cards

(1) Lothar Baumgarten and Michael Oppitz, Rabe/ Hommage a M.B. Aigle. Dusseldorf, Konrad Fischer, 1974. Invitation card for an exhibition which referenced a 1972 show by Marcel Broodthaers titled 'Der Adler vom Oligozän bis heute in Düsseldorf'. Postcard, 10.5 x 15 cm. One side of the card features a photograph of an eagle with ‘Hommage à M.B., Aigle’ typed below. On the other side the word ‘Rabe’ (raven) is printed in red.

(2) Marcel Broodthaers, Fuchs/ Veritable eau de Cologne. Berlin, Self-published, 1974. Artists' card, 10.5 x 15 cm, made in response to Baumgarten and Oppitz's exhibition card above, with similar lay-out. One side reads 'To L. Baumgarten and M. Oppitz to salute the exhibition for the mind and the intellect', the other side reads 'Fuchs' (fox). Mais qui mangera le fromage? Berlin, 20-5-74 Marcel Broodthaers'. Scarce set in mint condition.
