Artists Space is a non-profit art gallery and arts organization first established at 155 Wooster Street in Soho, New York City in 1972. Its mission is stated as 'devoted exclusively to the exhibition of serious new art that is not given adequate exposure in galleries and museums and, by virtue of its unfamiliarity, transitory form, unconventional media and controversial content, is not readily accommodated by these traditional outlets'.
