The Jewish firm Polak & Schwarz was one of the world's most important producers of fragrances. This nicely - but anonymously - produced, very rare commemorative publication appeared just before World War II; the Jewish background of the owner's of the firm was therefore problematic. (2) Rubber? Commercial publication issued by Vredestein in Loosduinen, The Hague, n.d. (ca. 1935), 11 spiral-bound lvs, printed on 1 side only w. typography and col. ills. by Van Alfen (monogrammed on final leaf), 4to. Very nicely produced and rare. (3) N.V. Stoomolieslagerij J. Van Vollenhoven Amersfoort. N.pl., October 1940, (20) p., richly ill. (most w. fine photomontage ills.), orig. spiral-bound wr., 4to. Published on occasion of the new factory. With loosely inserted fold. col. blueprint of part of the factory, issued by F. Krupp Grusonwerk A.G. Magdeburg-Buckau. -and 3 others, incl. a booklet issued by Koninklijke Shell, ca. 1936, w. fine photomontage designs.
