Manifesto originally issued for the show ‘Le Mouvement’ at Galerie Denise René, Paris, April 6 - 30, 1955, featuring Agam, Bury, Calder, Duchamp, Jacobsen, Soto, Tinguely and Vasarely. The groundbreaking exhibition was curated by Denise René, Victor Vasarely, Roger Bordier, and Pontus Hulten and marked the beginning of kinetic art. This copy is the facsimile edition released for the show held in 1975 at Denise René Gallery in New York, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the original event in Paris.
Bright yellow sheet, printed both sides in black. Unfolded: 49.8 x 32.5 cm, folded: 24.6 x 16.2 cm. Contains the Manifesto by Victor Vasarely titled ‘Notes pour un Manifeste/ Le Manifeste Jaune’, as well as texts by Hulten and Bordier in French. The 1975 reprint is brighter and printed on thicker paper than the original 1955 edition. In very good state. Rare.
