Dropfabriek De Atlas was founded in Amsterdam in 1925 by Salomon van Win (1891-1955). Miraculously (but also because the family was well off), most members of the Jewish family survived the war. The son of Salomon, Hugo van Win (1920-2004, who was Jewish and homosexual) even stayed in Germany (Stuttgart and Berlin) for years. Hugo took over the factory in 1955. He is known as one of the founders of the COC. (total 21)
