Yoshio Nakajima, Alternativ Documenta, c. 1972

Unique artists' book, 46 x 31 cm. Contains a striking assembling of 17 sheets of various sizes with silkscreens, collages, stamps and other handmade additions by Nakajima. All stapled and tape-bound in a wrapper made of a cut-up silkscreened poster for 'Alternativ Documenta', organized by the Bauhaus Situationists. The first two collages are signed.

The sheets present a random overview of activities in which Nakajima was involved from the late 1960s to 1972, featuring essays, pamphlets and posters of his early Happenings in Sweden and Belgium (in cooperation with Panamarenko, Hugo Heyrman et al), and announcements for events such as the Hap Hap Happening in Halmstad in 1968 or the Intermedia Fest of Free Expressions in 1971. Wrappers show some wear, the interior is in very good condition.
