Pavel Rudolf, Untitled, 1999
Serigraph and pencil on paper, 39 x 39 cm. Signed and dated 27.1.99 in pencil on vers.
Printed in orange with hand added drawings in pencil. Curiously the work is printed on the back of a silkscreen by Robert Barry, with white printed lettering along the margins, almost invisible.
The work derives from the private collection of Paul and Helene Panhuysen, who ran the Apollohuis in Eindhoven (NL), a space for experimental music and art. Rudolf exhibited there in 1991, in a groupshow 'Rules of the Game' curated by Jiri Valoch. Pavel Rudolf (1943) is an important representative of Czech geometric abstraction, conceptual art and visual poetry.
