Daniel Buren, two Art & Project bulletins
Single folded sheets, 29.5 x 21 cm, 4 pp. printed b/w. Mailed and folded copies.
(1) No.40, June 1971. Interior features b/w photographic images of Buren's installation at the Guggenheim International exhibition before it was censored at the request of participating artists who felt 'endangered' by the piece. Small spot on front sheet, else fine. (2) No. 75, March 1974. Exquisite bulletin, printed on transparent paper so that the text is separately printed and can only be read when the two pages are connected. (total 2)
Art & Project was a legendary gallery in Amsterdam run by Adriaan van Ravesteijn and Geert van Beijeren. Between 1968 and 1986, they published 156 Bulletins which were mailed to a list of curators and artists around the world. Each bulletin contained an artist contribution, or 'exhibition by mail'.
