Vieux Bois', this work was published in English as 'The Adventures of Obadiah Oldbuck', written and illustrated by Swiss caricaturist Töpffer. Published first in Europe and then in the US as a newspaper supplement 'The Adventures Of Obadiah Oldbuck' is commonly referred to as the first comic book printed in the US and America's first newspaper comic. Early editions such as this one are quite rare.
