One poster in a series of Indonesian travel posters produced in the 1930s by the Information Bureau of the Netherlands Indies. Shreve was an American artist, journalist and adventurer. He traveled widely through Asia between 1933 and 1936 before landing in Australia. It was during this time that he produced a series of evocative paintings used by the Dutch K.P.M. Line for promotional and advertorial purposes, including corporate brochures and travel posters.
