Engr. map w. attractive handcol. cartouche incorporating an elephant and a rhinoceros, handcol. borders, 45.5 x 53.5 cm, publ. by J. Blaeu in his Atlas Major, 1662. Strips of sellotape from former mount upper corners verso. A very good copy. This rare map was probably drawn from Dutch explorer Jan van Herden's knowledge of the area. -and 1 similar map w. handcol. borders and w. the same title (Amst., Heirs of J. Janssonius, ca. 1660).
