Tobacco box
Dutch, bronze, sharply cut and riveted, ca. 1725. Intricately engraved w. depictions of the four seasons; sides w. floral motif. Top and bottom w. sliding covers that reveal different scenes of ships on the sea and a traveler on the road. The inner top lid also engraved w. floral/ bird motifs and w. 2 hinged covers that open to reveal two difference scenes of birds flying above a Dutch countryside landscape and two people in the Dutch countryside. 5 x 12 x 3 cm.
