[Suriname] Two bills of exchange arising from the abolition of slavery (Keti Koti) in Suriname

Issued 8 December 1863 and 13 June 1864, respectively, for 12000 and 5000 guilders (enormous amounts at the time), both w. annotation in pen 'Opheffing der slavernij' in upper left corner and 'betaalbaar te Amsterdam' in upper right corner, covered on both sides w. annotations in pen and (blind)stamps such as 'betaald', 'S.A. Klaasen Amsterdam' and 'Erwin L. Samuel Liverpool', tax blindstamp/ seals, both w. the signature in pen of the Suriname governor, Johan Wilhelm van Lansberge.

Both w. folds, the 12000 guilder bill w. repaired tears and the alterations in pen dam. by the acidic ink forming holes in the paper. (total 2)
