Archive of the Sepp/ Hoedemaker families

Ca. 1800-1950 (most ca. 1900-1940), consisting of manuscript wedding cards, letters, diplomas, receipts, drawings, a sm. portfolio containing 24 loose paper clippings, etc. Most items concern members of the Hoedemaker family, but by far the most noteworthy items concern the distantly related Sepp family. Comprises a.o.: (1) C. Sepp Jansz. "By gelegenheid der Vijf en Twintig Jaarigen Bruijloftsdag van myne waarde en geliefde Ouderen (...) anno MDCCXCVIII (...) opgedraagen door Hunnen Liefhebbende en Oudste Zoon" (signed C. Sepp Jansz.). Calligraphic manuscript, 9 pages, w. 2 drawings in grisaille signed "C. Sepp Jz. Inv.", thread-bound orig. wr., 23 x 19 cm. The parents of the author were the famous Jan Christiaan Sepp (1739-1811) and his second wife Wichertje Wichers Kryuys (1755-1823). The artist and publisher J.C. Sepp was best known for his work Beschouwing der Wonderen Gods in de minstgeachtte schepselen (issued from 1762 onward). (2) Photo of 4 original drawings and 2 engravings for the mentioned work, w. accompanying description in pen and date stamp 6 Sep. 1941. (3) Portfolio with 20 paper clippings comes from the Sepp family as well; a few of the clippings are stamped Chr. E. Sepp.
