[Slavery] Turn out! Turn out!! No compromise with slavery!!!

Small letterpress broadside/ flyer, 16.5 x 26.5 cm, dated Oswego, May 3, 1850, signed in letterpress by a comittee of 5 people. "A meeting of the colored citizens of the City of Oswego, (and all others who will, may come to the rescue,) will be held on Monday evening next, at the Bethel Church (Colored) at 1-2 past 7 o'clock, to express their views on Mason's Compromise Bill, and the surrender of fugitive slaves. By order of the committee." Sm. tear in left margin, some folds and creases. Extremely rare, no other copies traced. Added: Nieuwe Surinaamsche Courant en Letterkundig dagblad, 12 Dec. 1834, mentioning a.o. "Brieven van Manumissie" for the slaves Hendrik, Lisette, Elisabeth and Wimpie.
