Paper puppet theatre set

German (?), 19th cent. Consisting of a wooden theatre w. glued-on handcol. lithogr. decorations, 35 x 34 cm, 7 handcol. background scene pieces, each side featuring a different (part of a) scene, and approx. 80 paper puppets. Some puppets w. moveable parts operated by strings and attached to wire holders (also incl. some extra wire holders), some attached to a sm. wooden base. All paper puppets handcol., approx. 9-12 cm tall.

Wooden theatre sl. dam., some puppets lacking sm. pieces, all pieces w. signs of age and wear. Still a lovely collection of paper theatre items.
