Ca. 1940. Acrylic on paper, all 15 x 21.5 cm, all signed. It was probably intended for a children's book that was never published, as many such projects were not realized due to WWII. Added: Pietje Mus. De avonturen van een stadmus. Amst., from the Joh. M. Allis archive, ca. 1939. 8 orig. ills. for the book, incl. the cover. Verso of each ill. w. b/w borders for future text. Gouache on paper. All 34 x 35 cm. Also incl. a typed manuscript of 12 pages w. the stories (2 copies), the proof cover (soiled) and 14 sheets of var. proofs, each 57 x 76 cm. These manuscripts remained in an archive for nearly 80 years.
