Spine ends chipped, outer joints (partly) split, corners worn, margins sl. soiled in a few places, otherwise a fine copy. A clear and succinct teaching course on the art of shadows, necessary for artists and draughtsmen, together with a short course on drawing at home and in the field and both for civil engineering and for military purposes. The author (ca. 1720-ca. 1790) was a geometrist, military engineer and teacher of the Duc de Berry.
