[Theatre] Eight contemporary handcoloured engraved stage views in optica style
All approx. 45 x 34 cm (incl. engr. captions below), Amst., J. Smit, (1738), engr. by Jan Punt and Adolf van der Laan, unif. framed. The larger part of a series of 14 views issued on the occasion of the centenary of the theatre built in 1638 on the Keizersgracht after a design by Jacob van Campen (destroyed by fire in 1772). This set comprises: De Aloude Hofgallerey; De Berg van Parnas; Het Bosch; De gestoffeerde Kamer; De Hel; De Italiaansche Straat; Het Nieuwe Hofportaal; and Zonnehof.
All captions re-margined in lower corners, w. central horizontal fold and some stains, not examined outside the frames. (total 8)
