Pagination skipping p. 317-318 as always, browned throughout, title-p. loosening, a few other imperfections. Provenance: From the library of the Franciscan Friars of Misericordiae in Graz (Austria), w. stamp 'F.F.M. Graz' on title-p. and 'Ex libris Biblioth: Fr: Fr: Misericordiae Graecii' (and shelf details) in pen on upper pastedown. The very rare first edition. On the author, see Van der Aa, Biografisch Woordenboek der Nederlanden, vol. 8, part 2, p. 987. Isaäc and his son Johan Isaäc (the author of the present work) were both famous 15th century Dutch chemists, greatly influencing the later chemists Stahl, Paracelsus and Boyle, and mentioned by Boerhaave and Lenglet du Fresnoy.
