Frontisp. cut short, creased and clumsily repaired/ strengthened verso. w. tape, without free endpapers, otherwise contents good. Pagination 329-362 is used twice, exactly as in a digitized copy found online. Binding lacks ties and is stained/ soiled. (2) Lucanus, M.A. La Pharsale de Lucain, Traduite en François par M. (J.F.) Marmontel. Paris, Merlin, 1766, 2 vols., (2),LXXIX,(1),304,(1); (2),415,(5) p., w. 11 engr. plates by J.B. Simonet a.o. after H. Gravelot, cont. marbled calf w. gilt and ribbed spines w. mor. letterpieces. The bindings w. defects such as chips, tears on joints, bumped corners etc. Still a good copy. -and 1 other.
