(4) Street view of Arab people sitting outside a café, playing a game, drinking tea and smoking. (5) Frères armés du Sahara/ The Armed Brothers of the Sahara. Near Biskra, Algeria. Portrait of volunteer soldiers in this religious/ military institute. The primary function of these volunteers was to offer sanctuary to slaves fleeing from caravans. Notably, the institute's uniform included elements reminiscent of crusader attire, specifically the Templar Cross. (6) 'Allée des Platanes'. Topographical view of a quiet, tree-lined road.
