*The Segers brothers' flower bulb company was established by Cornelis and Rengert Segers in 1897. Many Lisse families at that time had a longstanding relationship with floriculture. Their father had been the Head Gardener at Keukenhof, and several relatives owned smaller flower bulb businesses prior to the brothers founding their company in 1887.
