Waclaw Ropiecki, collection of nine items
(1) Original b/w photographic selfportrait of the artist, with rubberstamp addition, 9 x 14 cm, verso with stamped address of Ropiecki in Wroclaw, Poland. (2) Colour printed A4 flyer 'Something important will be created now' dated 12 03 80. (3-5) Three artists' postcards, 15.5 x 10.5 cm, hand-stamped and hand-painted. Unique samples from a limited edition of 35, stamped 'waclaw ropiecki' and hand-numbered in lower left.
(6-8) Three self-published booklets, each 10.5 x 14.7 cm, 8-10 pp. Contains: Ill-posed questions, 1980; At their roots, 1981; More light, 1983. (9) Small flyer 'Movie picture of you', 21.5 x 15 cm. Invitation to participate in a collective artwork, dated 13 June 1984. All items in excellent condition. (total 9) Waclaw Ropiecki (b. 1951) was an important figure in the Polish avant garde in the 1970s, he was a founding member of the Format student group in Wroclaw (1972-1976), cooperated with PERMAFO Gallery and Foto-Medium-Art in the early 1980s, and was active in the international mail art movement.
